Finance Officer Job in Colne, Lancashire
A well respected business based in Colne, who have developed an excellent reputation for their specialist products, are currently looking to recruit an experienced Finance Officer to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.
Responsibilities of a Finance Officer
Finance Officer is a full time role working Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. And you will:
- Be reporting to the Managing Director and have a varied, well-rounded job involving all elements of transactional accounting.
- Be responsible for daily and monthly bank reconciliations for UK and foreign currency accounts, month-end reconciliation and processing BACS and international payments.
- Be purchasing ledger, processing supplier invoices and reconciling and posting monthly credit card statements.
- Be processing all employee expenses, reconcile supplier statements and deal with any issues.
- You will be assisting the company with the month end including accruals, prepayments, journal postings and VAT returns.
- Credit control will also form part of your role, where you will liaise with customers via all forms of communication channels, posting invoices and credit notes.
Job Requirements
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Have experience of working in a similar role previously, with a good understanding of accounting principles.
- Have working knowledge of purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control, with a desire to expand your skill set and progress with this growing business.
- Have a good understanding of Excel with vlookups and pivot tables as a minimum.
- Experience of Sage is highly desirable.

- Effectively diagnose and identify faults and failures with equipment and systems and provide effective solutions and escalate where necessary.
